The Executive Committee of GRASAG – UMaT wishes to extend a warm greetings to all postgraduate students of the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa.

The Leadership is excited to announce to you of the election of our President Mr Emmanuel Kwaansah Owodoo, as the Deputy Speaker of GRASAG National Senate at the first siting of the first meeting of the 27th GRASAG National Senate at the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Conference Centre at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

Immediately after the handover of the mantle of leadership from the erstwhile Samuel Sagoe led GRASAG National administration to the newly Heartwill led GRASAG National administration, the first National GRASAG senate siting took place where our President, Mr Emmanuel Kwaansah Owodoo, was elected as the Deputy speaker of GRASAG National Senate by the senators present and voting as required by Article 55 clause (a) of the GRASAG National Constitution.

He pulled 17 Votes out of a total of 22 representing 81% as against his opponent’s 4 Votes, which makes him the first to have pulled the highest votes for the Deputy Speakership position in the history of GRASAG National. This is history. History is made as it is the second time a senator from GRASAG-UMaT has been elected to the high office of Deputy Speaker of GRASAG National Senate.

This milestone achieved is directly in line with the vision of the current leadership to project GRASAG-UMaT to the National and international levels respectively, to build a vibrant GRASAG together.

Leadership takes this opportunity to congratulate him and wish him well as he carries out his duties to contribute to the welfare of the average postgraduate student in UMaT and Ghana at large. This milestone sets the pace for subsequent UMaT senators to serve the interest of GRASAG in knowledge, Truth and Excellence.

Ayekoo, Mr President!
