Emmanuel Kweku Mensah is the current GRASAG-UMaT Organizer for the 2019/2020 academic year. Kweku holds a BSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He is an avid follower of emerging trends in the field of Embedded Vision Systems (EVS) and wish to explore it to impact society and by extension the nation at large.
Kweku advocates strongly that an enabling environment should be created to ensure that STEM education is well balanced and easily accessed by both genders. He contributes his quota towards the realization of this dream by equipping students with basic STEM – related skills needed to embark on this new exciting journey.
He is the co-founder of KLAKS Technologies, a 3D printing startup aimed at making design and rapid prototyping readily available in Ghana and Africa. Kweku is also a co-founder of the Dare Mighty Things (DMT) Initiative. The DMT Initiative seeks to introduce high school students to programming with the aim of getting them interested in STEM-related disciplines.
He has served in various capacities as organizer for student’s organizations like Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA), GSTS Old Student Association (The Giants) and Creativity Group.
Kweku is poised to lead an exciting new era of organization in GRASAG – UMaT.
